Gradifi- Why did She?
ACTOR / PRINCIPAL
Gradifi was a project very special to me. During the audition, they asked me to sing a karaoke song. I panicked and went with the only song that came to mind-Bohemian Rhapsody. A 9 minute song (and yes I even went for the high notes...regrettably). After I somehow booked that I fell in love with how much care the team had put into the character Sophie and felt such a privilege to play her. The whole multi-media campaign was a big under-taking and I am extremely proud I got to hold that responsibility.

PRODUCER
It's always amazing to work on a project when you're passionate about the subject. That was very much the case for me with this short doc. We wanted this project to be authentic, yet quietly impactful as we were dealing with heavy issues. Queena Liu (Director) has such a grounding way of telling stories which translated beautifully with this content. I remotely took care of call-sheets, scheduling and overall communications to ensure smooth filming days. This piece harmoniously combines a family's perseverance with navigating the Canadian mental health system.
Burden
SCRIPT SUPERVISOR
As a script supervisor, I worked alongside the Director to assist with maintaining continuity between shots. It's an interesting position, requiring an extreme keen eye for detail. You have to keep track of many moving pieces- how the actors adjust throughout the shots, any background noises like cars passing and even things like the lighting changes corresponding to the time of day. It's a quiet but demanding task, requiring immense patience and balancing many tiny yet crucial details to make a perfect shot. It's a job you'll never notice- if done correctly!
